Description

Horticultural production farm in protected environments such as greenhouses and polytunnels, using hydroponic systems (crops grown on coconut fiber slabs).

The greenhouses are fully equipped with irrigation and heating systems and are fully automated. The polytunnels are equipped with drip irrigation systems.

The farm produces fresh vegetables and fruits: tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, kohlrabi, lettuce, strawberries, raspberries, etc.

To control pests, the farm uses natural predators to protect the crops. Pollination is carried out with the help of bumblebees.

Product transport is handled with the farm’s own refrigerated vehicles.

The farm owns 5.2 hectares of agricultural land, two fully technologized greenhouses with a total area of 13,200 m², polytunnels totaling 10,000 m², and auxiliary buildings with a total area of 700 m² (including refrigerated storage areas: 200 m²).
There is potential for expanding production, either by building new greenhouses and polytunnels on the current land (approximately 27,000 m² still available) or by acquiring adjacent land.

Main sales market: hypermarkets and fruit/vegetable resellers in Romania. Growth potential exists both within Romania and in the EU.

Notes:

The business currently has one ongoing project with European funds, totaling EUR 452,000 (of which EUR 152,000 own contribution and EUR 300,000 non-reimbursable funds – EU).

The business is being sold at an exceptional price of only EUR 1,700,000 (including the price of the real estate) because the owner does not have the funds necessary to implement EU project (for his own contribution).
